Below is a poem “written by” the narrator of Free Falling With Ryan Ramsey, Max “Silver” Silvers:
What you did to me
I have only come to terms with
in the last few weeks.
We drove across the country
and I thought we’d be free.
But instead you disappeared
how did I not see?
Orange Spirits and Vodka Sodas
were not enough fun.
A snowy hug in North Carolina but you said
spliffs were dumb.
We fell from the sky
Palm Springs, sun dried minds.
Free Falling together, so high.
I’m left with memories and tainted dreams and
I can’t forget—
Below is a song regarding my third novel, “Free Falling With Ryan Ramsey”
We were driving down the highway you by my side
Two friends in the back but it was just you and I
The song on the radio reminds me of past times
When life was easy and the days just flew by
We’d smoke, and drink, and you’d call me dumb
And laugh, and cry, but all in good fun
I want to go back to those times
And when I hear your name
I know things aren’t the same
Though I think you’re coming back
I’ll keep on running away
From all these memories
From all the tainted dreams
I can’t forget I can’t forget
What you did to me
Remember that day in Palm Springs we fell from the sky
Free falling together, every day and night
We drove that old van, oh we drove so high
And even when you threw up, you still looked so nice
Vermont, to New York, and down to Miami
From the South to West all the way to Cali
But all I ever saw, was you and me
And when I hear your name
I know things aren’t the same
Though I think you’re coming back
I’ll keep on running away
From all these memories
From all the tainted dreams
I can’t forget I can’t forget
What you did to me
What you did to me
Oh, what you did me
You left me on my own now I gotta figure just me
What you did to me
Oh what you did to me
You left me on my own now I gotta figure out just me
What you did to me
Oh, what you did to me
Did to me
And when I hear your name
I know things aren’t the same
Though I think you’re coming back
I’ll keep on running away
From all these memories
From all the tainted dreams
I can’t forget I can’t forget
What you did to me
